Recording contains stutters or defects not in the original
Try restarting your system before recording. Some sound drivers cause stability problems when used for long recordings. Windows usually performs
better after a restart.
If more than one device is installed, try selected a different device (press F11 Device tab). Do not use the Total Recorder device,
if installed.
Update the sound driver if it is listed as "emulated" in GoldWave (press F11, Device tab).
Use the Windows Disk Defragmenter accessory to defragment your hard drive.
If you have anti-virus software running, try disabling it temporarily to see if that solves the problem.
If the Windows Indexing Service is running, stop it (see the Windows Help for details).
Install more RAM in your system and use the RAM storage setting in GoldWave under Options | Storage.
If all else fails, contact the manufacturer or replace your sound card with something better.
